Milk carton squishy guide
How to make your milk carton template
This carton uses one long wrap and a folded gable top. Build the bottom box first, then leave the top ridge open until the filling is inside.
Get these ready
- *A4 printer paper or light card stock (90-120 gsm)
- *Child-safe scissors
- *A ruler and a blunt scoring tool, such as an empty pen cap
- *Clear tape or double-sided tape
- *A small amount of tissue paper or soft scrap paper for filling
What to put inside
Use narrow tissue strips at the base and a few loose scrunches in the middle. Keep the top ridge mostly empty.
What to stick with
Use double-sided tape or a glue stick on long side tabs, plus short clear-tape strips to reinforce the roof ridge.
- 1
Cut the one-piece carton net
Cut the outer solid line carefully and keep the side seam and bottom tabs attached.
- 2
Score the folds
Score every dashed line with a ruler, including the tall side panels and the top gable.
- 3
Create the carton body
Fold the four panels into a tall rectangle and join the long side seam.
- 4
Close the bottom
Fold the bottom tabs inward in sequence and tape or glue them flat.
- 5
Add light filling
Use the still-open top to add tissue slowly, stopping before the carton feels firm.
- 6
Pinch and seal the gable
Fold the top ridge together, secure the final tab, and add a short tape strip across the roof.
Print note: Print at 100% scale and score all blue dashed lines, especially the top gable and bottom closure lines.
Finish it: Keep the front face flat while you close the top so the strawberry detail stays centred and easy to see.
Use scissors with adult help when needed. Keep filling light and dry: do not use food, liquid, rice, beads, or anything heavy inside a paper squishy.
