Cheese squishy guide

How to make your cheese pack

This cheese project uses a triangular wedge shape. The edge strips are the secret to keeping the front and back pieces aligned.

Intermediate beginner - about 30 minutes

Get these ready

  • *A4 printer paper or light card stock (90-120 gsm)
  • *Child-safe scissors
  • *A ruler and a blunt scoring tool, such as an empty pen cap
  • *Clear tape or double-sided tape
  • *A small amount of tissue paper or soft scrap paper for filling

What to put inside

Use a few narrow tissue rolls placed along the centre line, then add small tissue pieces near the wide end.

What to stick with

Use double-sided tape or a glue stick for straight tabs. Use clear tape over the outside corners after the wedge is closed.

  1. 1

    Choose your cheese design

Print the wedge or cube concept at 100% scale and add face details while the pieces are flat.

  2. 2

Cut the main pieces and strips

Cut on solid lines, keeping the pale glue tabs and the narrow edge strips.

  3. 3

    Score and pre-fold

Score dashed lines lightly, then fold tabs inward so the triangular seams are easy to close.

  4. 4

    Attach one edge strip

Fix the first strip to the back piece, following the fold line so it matches the wedge outline.

  5. 5

    Fill before the final seam

Add only a small amount of tissue through the remaining opening; keep the point of the wedge clear.

  6. 6

    Seal the front piece

Attach the front piece to the edge strip, pressing each side from the wide end toward the point.

Print note: Print at 100% scale and score the edge-strip folds before you attach them to the wedge pieces.

Finish it: A few small paper circles or stickers make playful cheese holes, but keep them flat so the wedge still seals cleanly.

Use scissors with adult help when needed. Keep filling light and dry: do not use food, liquid, rice, beads, or anything heavy inside a paper squishy.
